See IBJJF tournaments on your calendar
Find IBJJF's upcoming tournaments on your Calendar, open one for its dates, venue and registration, and add it to your own calendar.
Your Calendar also lists IBJJF's upcoming tournaments, so you can see when one lands next to your own classes and events. They are read-only information from IBJJF: you cannot edit them, and opening one or adding it to your own calendar changes nothing in Roll Pay. You see them whether or not your academy belongs to an affiliation.
Steps
Find the tournaments
Tournaments are marked with an orange dot. The Tournament chip under the toolbar counts them, and the IBJJF tile in the header card says which ones you are seeing, which starts as US and Canada. Click the tile to show only tournaments. On a busy day Month view sums them up, for example 3 tournaments; click the day to see each one.
Tournaments outside the US and Canada are left out until you ask for them. When there are some, the Tournament chip has a switch on its right that reads +N worldwide, where N is how many it would add. Click it to bring them in, and click it again to go back to the US and Canada. Click the Tournament chip itself to hide tournaments, and again to show them.
Open a tournament
Click a tournament and a panel slides in from the right. From the top it shows:
- The tournament's name, tagged Tournament and IBJJF.
- The dates, for example Sat, Oct 10 – Sun, Oct 11.
- The venue and its address, with Open in Maps, which opens the place in a new tab.
- How many championships run there, for example 3 championships, each with the day or days it runs. Click a championship's name to open its page on ibjjf.com.
- When registration closes, which reads Registration closed once the date has passed, and when the match schedule is posted, with a Pre-schedule link when IBJJF has one.
Dates and venue at the top, the championships in the middle, the two buttons and the note about the list at the bottom. Register, or add it to your own calendar
View and register on IBJJF opens the tournament's page on ibjjf.com in a new tab, and that is where you register. Once registration has closed the button reads View on IBJJF. Add to my calendar downloads a calendar file (.ics) for the tournament, which Google Calendar, Apple Calendar and Outlook can open.
The note at the foot of the panel says the list comes from ibjjf.com, gives the date the list was last updated, and reminds you that dates and venues can change, so check IBJJF before you travel.
TipLook at the list updated date in the note before you rely on a date or a venue. IBJJF can change either one after that.
What happens next
Nothing is saved to your academy. If a tournament matters to you, confirm it on IBJJF before you book travel.
Common questions
A tournament I know about is missing. The list is a snapshot of IBJJF's public event pages, and the note in a tournament's panel gives the date of that snapshot, so a tournament added or changed since then may not show yet. If it is outside the US and Canada, click +N worldwide first.
Can I add my own tournament? Yes, as an event: use Add, then Event, which is for a seminar, camp or tournament with registration and waivers. It shows on your calendar as one of your events.
Can I register my students from Roll Pay? No. Registration is on IBJJF's site, through the button in the panel.
